Grampian Transport Museum

The Museum owns various historically important local vehicles, including the Craigievar Express, a steam powered tricycle built in 1895, the Sentinel Steam Wagon of 1914, the Albion Fire Engine, and the beautifully restored Cruden Bay Tram. Our exhibits change annually and many can be climbed aboard. DVD displays provide further interest and enable you to see many of the vehicles in action.

There are numerous indoor and outdoor events and shows held at the museum each year. The museum holds many exciting events over the spring and summer, including the Ride-On Fun Day in May, where children can ride historic vehicles around the purpose built museum track, the classic car show MOTORVATION!, the entirely new Military Vehicle Tattoo, the Grampian Motorcycle Convention and Alford Autojumble in September. Look out for children's holiday activities, including vehicle rides and Bill Duncan and the Daleks! (This involves the North's best known magician working with two fully operational Dr. Who Daleks!)
